スーラ 74 Al-Muddaththir (The Cloaked One)

1. عَنِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ

   About the criminals,

   74:41

2. مَا سَلَكَكُمْ فِي سَقَرَ

   (And asking them), "What put you into Saqar?"

   74:42

3. قَالُوا لَمْ نَكُ مِنَ الْمُصَلِّينَ

   They will say, "We were not of those who prayed,

   74:43

4. وَلَمْ نَكُ نُطْعِمُ الْمِسْكِينَ

   Nor did we used to feed the poor.

   74:44

5. وَكُنَّا نَخُوضُ مَعَ الْخَائِضِينَ

   And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged (in it),

   74:45

6. وَكُنَّا نُكَذِّبُ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ

   And we used to deny the Day of Recompense

   74:46

7. حَتَّىٰ أَتَانَا الْيَقِينُ

   Until there came to us the certainty."

   74:47

8. فَمَا تَنْفَعُهُمْ شَفَاعَةُ الشَّافِعِينَ

   So there will not benefit them the intercession of (any) intercessors.

   74:48

9. فَمَا لَهُمْ عَنِ التَّذْكِرَةِ مُعْرِضِينَ

   Then what is (the matter) with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away

   74:49

10. كَأَنَّهُمْ حُمُرٌ مُسْتَنْفِرَةٌ

    As if they were alarmed donkeys

    74:50

11. فَرَّتْ مِنْ قَسْوَرَةٍ

    Fleeing from a lion?

    74:51

12. بَلْ يُرِيدُ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ مِنْهُمْ أَنْ يُؤْتَىٰ صُحُفًا مُنَشَّرَةً

    Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about.

    74:52

13. كَلَّا ۖ بَلْ لَا يَخَافُونَ الْآخِرَةَ

    No! But they do not fear the Hereafter.

    74:53

14. كَلَّا إِنَّهُ تَذْكِرَةٌ

    No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder

    74:54

15. فَمَنْ شَاءَ ذَكَرَهُ

    Then whoever wills will remember it.

    74:55

16. وَمَا يَذْكُرُونَ إِلَّا أَنْ يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ ۚ هُوَ أَهْلُ التَّقْوَىٰ وَأَهْلُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ

    And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for (granting) forgiveness.
